Morgan Mine
Published in Paperback by Price Stern Sloan Pub (November, 1982)
Authors: Steven Cosgrove, Stephen Cosgrove, and Robin James
Average review score:

Charming!
Perfect for children who tend to throw temper tantrums, as a young girl throws a fit when a unicorn beats her at her own game. The illustrations are unavoidably beautiful, and the association with the unicorn may help children become more receptive to the message. I also recommend Morgan and Yew, Morgan Morning, Misty Morgan, Morgan and Me, and The Gigglesnitcher.

A must have!
This was the first Serendipity book I was introduced to, and I love it! It is a deeply emotional story of a young colt who disobeys his mother and must live with the consequences. This is the beginning of the Morgan saga (Morgan is a unicorn who also appears in Morgan and Me, Morgan and Yew, Morgan Mine, and The Gigglesnitcher), and anyone who enjoys horses and unicorns will love this charming tale.

Morgan's Son (Silhouette Special Edition, No 992)
Published in Paperback by Harlequin (November, 1995)
Author: Lindsay McKenna

:)
I enjoyed this series by Lindsay Mckenna for the most part. I thought that her beginning stories that involved the core of the Trayhern family were the best. When the author started writing about the mercenaries that worked for Morgan I started to have my doubts. I was thrilled that she was returning to one of the core members again-Morgan Trayhern and his family. After reading Morgan's Wife I was highly disappointed, but I never stop reading a series, and I am glad I stuck with this one because I really liked this book revolving around the rescue of Morgan's son Jason.

Undercover operative Sabra Jacob's loves Jason as if he were her own son. This mission is dangerous and highly personal to Sabra. Sabra's partner has just had a heartattack, so if Sabra is going to do this she needs a new partner. Craig Talbot has just lost his partner to a fatal auto accident. Craig is brought in and told about the mission, although at first he refuses. Craig's one condition to working at Perseus is that he never takes high risk missions. Craig is talked into it reluctantly. Sabra and Craig are to pose as a married couple in order to rescue Jason. Sabra soon learns of the tragedy that haunts Craig from his past. Your heart really bleeds for all that he has been through. Sabra and Craig are drawn to each other, but they never forget that Jason is their number one priority, and the very real threat of death at trying to rescue him.

I believe I was able to enjoy the story of Craig and Sabra because although the rescue of Jason was the goal, his story did not overshadow theirs, unlike what happened in the previous story about Morgan's wife Laura. Craig is a character that is hard to resist. Sabra's compassion is to be admired. Hopefully, Lindsay Mckenna's next story of Morgan's Rescue is as good as this one.

A Mother's Touch: The Difference a Mom Makes
Published in Hardcover by Zondervan (March, 1998)
Authors: Elisa Morgan, Carol Kuykendall, and Mary Beth Lagerborg

Pictures and thoughts of moms in a beautiful book
When you read this book, it's like you get to peek in through a keyhole and see real moms full of courage with real kids who depend on her in everyday events: secure ones, hard ones, messy ones, silly ones. You even get to hear what the mom is thinking.... and come away stronger, more full of courage yourself. The pictures are stunning, unposed, full of life.

As a mom-to-be, I got this book as a gift to my mom to say thanks for all she's done for me. I read through the book before giving it to her and found myself crying and laughing, but becoming stronger with each turned page.

One of my favorite pictures is a black and white one on page 22. It's one of a little boy, touching his mom's nose as they play in a sandbox. Above it is this thought from a mom in Philadelphia: "God miraculously sends the right child to the right mother. Nick and I like to count through all his cousins and friends and marvel that they all ended up with just the reight mothers..and how glad he is to have ended up with me!"

good anthology-well balenced
Thirteen of the most famous female authors of the last two decades, including six New York Times best-selling writers, have combined their talent on a "labor of love". This fabulous group has collaborated on a beautiful Mother's Day gift: MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS. The authors, including Anne McCaffrey, Diana Gabaldron and Eileen Dreyer, along with their daughters have written short stories based on that special bond between mother and daughter.

This collection is divided into two parts. The first pat consists of mothers with young daughters, while the second segment features mothers with adult daughters. The entire range of modern fiction is included in what are well-written, very appealing short stories.

Mountain Born, Mountain Molded
Published in Paperback by Parkway Publishers, Inc. (01 December, 2002)
Author: Larry G. Morgan
Average review score:

A memorable, nostalgic, and highly recommended narrative
Mountain Born, Mountain Molded by Larry G. Morgan is a wryly written personal memoir of growing up in the Nantahala region of western North Carolina from 1945-1955 as the fifth in a family of ten children. Childhood memories, simple games kids played long before popular culture became overloaded with atrociously [spendy] collectible toys, and the refreshing wonder of the great outdoors are all recalled in this memorable, nostalgic, and highly recommended narrative.

Beautiful!
What a beautiful book covering history in a new light. It is good to see in print heros who have seldom gained recognition in children's literaure. The illustrations are beautiful. A must for your child's growing library!
